Just Be Great

Today is Monday. It’s a fresh start. You can begin a new week with a blank canvas. You can make today the first day of your new beginning. That’s what is so great about Mondays. It’s like you’re getting another chance to redeem yourself. So last week wasn’t so great for you? You fell off the bandwagon, you didn’t have motivation to get to the gym, you were sick and stayed on the couch…the reasons for you not having a great week last week are endless. But the point is, we are granted a new week every Monday. How fabulous is that?  Why not make this week count? Be greater than you were before. Reach higher and make new goals. There’s no one stopping you but yourself. So, what do you want to do with your clean slate? What will be the first mark you make? Set a goal, work to make one of your dreams a reality. It doesn’t matter how small your goal is, you just need to start today and work for it. So many people set goals and say they’re going to take action and take control of their life…and then they let it fall by the wayside. Maybe you got busy with something else or you found that the steps to reaching your goal were harder than you thought, so you gave up. Whatever the reason is, you have to make an effort to stop the cycle of quitting. Change your mentality. Do this for you.

Greatness really is for all of us. You don’t have to be a superstar. You don’t have to be famous. You just need to figure out what greatness is to you and BE IT. What does greatness mean to you? Greatness can be found anywhere and in anything. It really and truly isn’t a special person. Every last one of us has the potential to be great. It’s just that only a select few of us will have the drive and determination to reach that level. Because, you see, the thing about being great is that it isn’t easy. It’s going to be hard. It’s probably going to kick you a few times while you’re down. The trek will probably be so steep that you want to quit, and you ask yourself why you even started in the first place. But, you’ll catch glimpses of your strength and the greatness that you possess each time you stand up after you’ve been knocked down. You’ll be stronger for your struggle, and I guarantee the taste of greatness will be that much sweeter to you because it didn’t come easy.

  1. These words could not have come at a better time for me. I seem to have been in a storm the past few months on my journey and I thought negatively about my achievements (or lack of) when I realized this morning what was meant to break me is only going to make me stronger and propel me to greatness. It’s not how I have fallen that counts but that I am getting back up and ready to work for continued success.
